Anyone who knows me knows that I worship the rain-swept water that Hemingway walks on. It is also true that Maugham's "The Razor's Edge" is my favorite novel, and one I re-read every year. But after just reading "The Great Gatsby" again, it is clear that this is the finest novel ever written. I won't go into a long scholarly monologue...just go read it. Now.
